Operation Through the Pandemic

As an essential business, LPI has been working continuously throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. With main offices located in two of the early hotspot states, LPI has operated with a combination of remote staff, shifts and teams to meet the needs of our critical infrastructure clients. In the past four months, LPI has

• Sent a vibration field team with advanced non-contact motion amplification and truckload of other equipment to support the Grand Gulf Nuclear outage in Mississippi
• Provided round the clock support to resolve pipe wall thinning issues at Arkansas Nuclear One during an outage
• Performed a risk assessment of a steam distribution system of a major city
• Assisted with a third-party review of a spent fuel storage system in California
• Provided engineering and materials laboratory services for a wide variety of projects that could not pause for the pandemic

To accomplish this, LPI had to deal with limitations imposed by state and local authorities, facility shutdowns, travel restrictions and quarantines, and limits on gatherings. The staff adjusted to these restrictions without missing a beat, using state of the art tools and equipment, like Wise-Back to communicate effectively.

Four months later, we are operating smoothly in the new paradigm of masks, home offices, social distancing, and Zoom meetings. We have been tested; we have emerged with a stronger team, new technologies and new processes; and we will continue to provide quality engineering and technical services to our clients.
